Some industrial sized portable air conditioning units have frontal flexible cold air outlet tubes call spot coolers. These are designed to cool a certain small area within a larger area. That is, instead of wasting money and energy trying to cool a large room, we can designate a smaller area that needs to be cooled. Spot coolers do this by creating an umbrella of cold air.
Spot coolers are ideal for cooling individual work stations or critical areas such server rooms, communication rooms, IT equipment or data centres.
As well as cooling the air the air is also dehumidified. The moisture is re-condensed out of the air and collected in an integral water container. This reservoir can be empties manually or an automatic pump can be fitted to drain away the condensate.
